The Sanborn Regional School District follows a calendar for District-wide Assessments. Teachers work in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to review district, grade-level, and individual student achievement data guided by DISTRICT GUIDE TO USING DATA .
Data Cycle Tool: PLC Teams use the data cycle template to analyze student achievement data and set goals for instruction.
The list below includes several of the standardized district-wide assessments used to monitor student progress throughout each school year. The assessment protocol for the district is supported by the common assessments given in all disciplines and at every grade level.
NWEA Northwest Evaluation Association's Measures of Academic Progress [Grades K-12]: Reading, Mathematics, Language Arts, Science NWEA Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) tests present students with engaging, age-appropriate content. DIBELS: [Grades K-5] Reading The DIBELS measures assess the 5 Big Ideas in early literacy identified by the National Reading Panel
SAT [Grades 7-12] Critical Reading, Mathematics, Writing: The SAT and SAT Subject Tests are a suite of tools designed to assess your academic readiness for college. These exams provide a path to opportunities, financial support and scholarships, in a way that's fair to all students. The SAT and SAT Subject Tests keep pace with what colleges are looking for today, measuring the skills required for success in the 21st century.
PSAT [Grade 10] Critical Reading, Mathematics, Writing: The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is
a program cosponsored by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). It's a standardized test that provides firsthand practice for the SAT®. It also gives you a chance to enter NMSC scholarship programs and gain access to college and career planning tools.
ACT [Grades 11-12] English, Reading, Mathematics, and Science : The ACT is a national college admissions examination
Advanced Placement (AP) [Grades 10-12] : The AP Examinations are administered each year in May and represent the culmination of college-level work in a given discipline in a secondary school setting.
