Update for Student-Athletes and Parents/Guardians

Summer, 2021

Greetings from the Athletics Office!

It has been a wild ride this past year, but a very successful one for our 325+ student-athletes. As we look forward to 2021-22, we hope to be back to as close to “normal” as possible. While nothing is guaranteed, all signs point to a return to normal. If you or your child has an interest in Athletics this coming fall (or any time during the year for that matter), please read on for some important information.

Physical Exams: These are required of all athletes, and must be no ‘older’ than 13 months at any given time. This can be a bit confusing, so here’s an example: If the exam was completed on June 1, 2020, it would be valid through July 1 of 2022 (13 months later). Most local urgent care centers will give your child a sports / camp physical on a walk-in basis for as little as $20, and we will have a free physical exam night at the MS/HS this August on a date TBD.

Registration: We will be moving to an entirely new system for student-athlete registration this coming year, FinalForms. I believe this will help us communicate better, track athlete medical information much more accurately and in “real time”, and allow parents to keep current on needed forms and such more efficiently than with our previous system.  For now, I ask that you fill out this 6 question form to help us gauge the interest we have for fall athletics, and so that coaches may reach out to athletes with summer workout information. Opening Day of Practices: High School sports open with Bass Fishing on August 9, Football on the 13th, and all other sports on Monday the 16th. Games begin August 31. Middle School teams will begin the first few days of school in August. Specific times and locations will be pushed out by the coaches...if you or your child is registered.

Coaches information: If you have specific questions about High School teams, please reach out to the coaches using the contact information below. Questions about Middle School teams may be directed to the Athletics Office / Mr. Dawson.

COVID: While we are still deeply concerned about the global pandemic, we will be moving to a mask-optional environment for athletics starting immediately. This is based on the guidelines and recommendations of the CDC, NH Dept. of Education, and the Sanborn District. Student-athletes may wear masks if they so choose, of course.

I will be taking some time off over the next few weeks as a way to re-charge. I hope you all are able to see family and friends in a way we haven’t been able to over the last 18 months, and that you all stay safe and have a great summer--we all deserve it.
